School Year Stuff Program Coordinator
Wanted: A creative, adventurous female with a joyful Christian faith and a passion for speaking positively into the lives of middle school girls. Right Tree is an Elk Rapids-based charity using recreation, community service and relationship-building activities to help girls discover their worth, their gifts, their voice and their future. We are looking for someone to work hand-in-hand with our Managing Director to help plan and supervise single- and multi-day once-a-month activities during the school year for Elk Rapids middle school girls.
Program details:
Activities will be scheduled as single-day local activities or multi-day trips on days there is a 1/2 day of school on Friday or a full day off on Monday (Oct, Jan, Feb, May)
In addition, we will plan a single day local activity in the evening or a weekend day in other months (Nov, Dec, Mar, April)
Programs are open to Elk Rapids girls in 6-8th grades. Multi-day trips are limited to 12 girls.
And there's more to it than only fun...
The fun stuff IS important. But even more important is the time we take to theming out every event and including some version of "campfire discussions," whatever we're doing and wherever we are. Themes might be relationships, depression, lies girls believe about themselves, social media, etc. Our discussion times provide opportunities for girls to share, discuss and address important issues in their lives in safe, supportive, encouraging settings.

Nov. ? Our own version of Chopped (Thanksgiving themed)

Feb. 15-17 An outdoor sport tournament

May 24-26. Greenfield Village/Henry Ford Museum/TreeRunners ropes course
Each program will entail at least additional day of planning, to be scheduled.
This is a paid position
The position pays $200 per programming day + $100 per planning day.
