Details and What-to-Bring
Unless otherwise noted, trips leave from and return to the Right Tree building

400 E. Third St, across the parking lot from Elk Rapid Bible Church; behind the high school soccer fields

All Right Tree activities are phone-free.  Staff will keep phones in a storage-box.  Participants may use their phones to call their parents as needed.  If you need to contact your daughter, please call a staff member at the numbers listed below.

Please recognize we are sometimes in areas with poor or no phone service.

​

Staff will take pictures and make them available for viewing and download

DO NOT BRING: laptops, ipads, headphones, earpods, music players or other electronic devices,   weapons of any kind, knives, lighters

Freedom Builders that is...

June 9, 8:30am - June 12, 1pm

    Park in Bloomfield Hills.  This park has

    rope course trails for all abilities.

BACKPACKING THE RED RIVER GORGE

June 28, 8am - July 3, 9pm

   + a mandatory organizational

   meeting June 27, 1-5pm

   at the Right Tree building400 E. Third St, across the parking lot from Elk Rapids Bible Church; behnd the high school soccer fields. 

 

Girls will be fitted for their packs, practice using all the equipment, pack meals and snacks and get their last minute questions answered. They take their packs home to finish packing personal items.  Parents are welcome to attend.

Suggested donation: $150

  June 29 - July 2 - hiking

  July 3 - travel day

What to bring

 

-solid shoes - preferably broken-in hiking

     shoes or boots

-hat

-4 pairs of socks - preferably lightweight

     wicking socks

-1 sweater or sweatshirt

-rain gear - preferably jacket/pants style vs

     poncho style

-1-2 pairs of pants - something quick drying

-2 short sleeve shirts

-2 pairs of shorts - something quick drying

-1 long sleeve shirt

-at least 2 pairs of underwear

-swimsuit

-flip flops or beach shoes

-backpacking pillow if desired

-personal toiletries - toothpaste,

     toothbrush, personal hygiene products,

     etc 

  -prescription medications

  -one set of clean clothes to wear on the way

     home that won't be carried in the

     backpacks

Remember...whatever you bring you will be carrying on your back the entire trip.   Pack as lightly as you can.  We can rinse out clothes on the trail

WATERLOGGED!

A day of tubing and pontooning.  Beginners or old-timers...we can go as fast or slow as you want.  Or you can hang on the pontoon & water mat and soak up the sun.

Please note we will depart from and return to the floating docks off Dexter St.

KAYAKING PICTURED ROCKS

July 13, 9am - July 15, 8pm

  July 14 - Hike & Paddle Tour along the

     Pictured Rocks shoreline​

This trip includes approx 5 miles of easy hiking in and out + approx 13 miles of paddling.  It is the PREMIER tour available!  It is appropriate for beginners.  The trip is conditional on weather and lake conditions.  Participants wear life jackets 100% of the time on the water.

     Pictured Rocks as well as some

     amazing local beaches, then travel

     home

-Some type of comfortable rain gear to wear      while kayaking & something warm to wear      underneath it if needed.

-sleeping attire

-rain gear (it can be the same top as you use for       kayaking)

-personal toiletries - toothbrush, toothpaste,
